So here are some of the early verbal commits: Curtis White Height: 6'5" Weight: 240 lbs Position: Tight end Nick Rowland Height: 6'5" Weight: 300 lbs Position: Offensive guard Ethan Grant Height: 5'10" Weight: 175 lbs Position: Running Back Isaac Dixon Height: 5'11" Weight: 195lbs Position: Linebacker (notified by marco grandi) The three recruits are all Four Star recruits, hope their early verbal commit means they will be future Ducks. What are your thoughts on the recruits? and have any more exceptional looking talent on the horizon for the Ducks? |

Issac dixon just became a Oregon Duck, they have him as #40 nationally at his position a 3star recruit. They have him listed as line backer, but if you watch his tape he actually reminds me of Patrik Chung, hes got great closing speed, he hits like a truck, but hes also got great coverage skills. I think he might play safety for us. |

That is good news about Dixon. His numbers don't jump out at you, but he has some decent offers and this coaching staff has shown over time that they can evaluate talent. |

Heres a great topic ive been wanting to discuss with intelligent Duck fans, who would you rather watch on saturday afternoons running the ball for the Oregon Ducks? Dontae Williams or Marcus Lattimore. |

Both It's hard to say which will be better on Saturdays in a Ducks uniform. From what I see Dontae will be a Duck and Marcus won't (cancelling a visit is never a good sign). One advantage with DW is that he's friends with Darron Thomas, so homesickness may be less of an issue and he may have a better idea of what life at Oregon is really like. From what I understand CK's policy is not to allow commits until the recruit has visited, in order to minimize the new trend of committing/uncomitting. Williams is supposed to visit for the USC game, so I imagine that we'll get his commit shortly after that. If Oregon keeps winning, and Lattimore decides to visit in the end, in theory we could still get him too. I think that Lattimore would be better as a true freshman, replacing Blount in the Thunder role. This might be attractive enough to bring him in. In the long run, who knows how these guys will really pan out, it really depends on their work ethic and attitude. I'm excited though, Ethan Grant has said he's still solid and adding Williams will make this quite the RB recruiting class! |

south of the border duck, i also didnt think lattimore would sign but i have been very impressed with DWs catching ability i think he would be great with that tazer position they talk about, i am more impressed with DW as a person than LATTIMORE, not to say hes a bad kid but DW is just a very well rounded kid and shows alot of enthusiasm of being a duck. |

I would love to get both of them, but either one of them would be great. |

Although we are getting solid verbal commits, I still don't want to get my hopes up until the signing day is over. Im not saying these guys won't be Ducks, its just kind of earlier for final decisions. But I do wish we could get some bigger backs for the Ducks. |

Southoftheborder, Not sure where you got that info on Kelly not allowing recruits to commit until they have visited. I believe Grasu, Grant and Bennett all commited prior to their visits, and i am not sure if Grant has taken his visit at all. I am sure if Uko or Lattimore commited, Kelly wouldn't turn them down. Nice pick-up of Coleman for 2011. He sounds kind of raw as a Safety as he is just learning the position at Lake Oswego, but obviously has huge upside and great size. |
