Playoff Format?; How would you set up a playoff?

Posts: 5 Group: Members Member #46 Joined: Oct 28, 2009	Listening to the lamentation of the mid-major teams (Duck fan in Boise ) and how they are doing everything they can to get games against the Major conferences (right) is making my ears ring. We know that the real holdup to having a playoff is $$$ and people in power wanting to stay in power. .....but if we could have playoffs, how would we make them fair? Got to avoid the cupcake brackets (aka the WAC). First think the BigDuckDaddy would do is eliminate the Polls.

Posts: 5 Group: Members Member #9 Joined: Oct 18, 2009	I suggested a couple years back that a 8 team playoff couched in the current BCS bowls seemed sensible. This would in effect be a +2 system. I'm not saying this is ideal but it did seem like a realistic step at the time. If we have a real mess at the end of the season with multiple teams remaining undefeated, momentum to tinker the system may build steam yet again. I for one hope so. Heck even the dreaded +1 would be better than what we have now. Edited by moderndervish, Nov 5 2009, 08:42 AM.

Posts: 5 Group: Members Member #46 Joined: Oct 28, 2009	I would like to see what a real solution would look like. Perhaps a selection comittee that fills brackets based on regions or sections or even "super conferences" allowing for the traditional matchups to still be maintained.

To bad I will probably never see it in my lifetime, for that fact, probably will never see NCAA FB playoffs--Sad!
